About Me

Hi, I’m Zach. I’m a 27 year old physical therapist from western Wisconsin who gets paid to travel around the country for work. In my two years of experience I’ve been able to work in Idaho, South Carolina, Massachusetts, Minnesota, and Arizona while exploring everywhere in between.

My love for sports and fitness started my path into physical therapy after a minor sports injury of my own left me hanging out at my local PT office in high school. I graduated from UW-La Crosse and took a risk being part of the formerly unaccredited inaugural DPT class at Concordia-St. Paul which turned out to be one of the best decisions for my career. I started working full time in the Minneapolis, MN area before taking the jump into traveling healthcare. This jump quickly ignited a passion to see the world as I had never been far out of the Midwest.

I now spend my time exploring every new area I work in, vacationing frequently, hiking anything with a view, working out, and cheering on Wisconsin sports teams.

I love my family and my friends, and with every financial decision I make, I try to have time with my future family at the forefront.

About this Blog

Welcome! This blog was originally created for me to be able to document my own personal journey on my way to financial independence. What it has evolved into, is a place of financial learning and personal growth for both myself and my readers.

It began with the sole focus of retirement but has transitioned into helping others begin their own financial journeys without losing sight of their own values and happiness.

I lost mine along the way but through helping others and documenting my progress I have been able to find it again.

Money is a powerful tool that we all should know how to best maximize but time is out greatest currency. Money/financial freedom can grant us the time to do what we value in life whether that’s time with family, hobbies, careers, or making a difference in the world.

Hopefully, by following along with my journey, I can help you to take back some of your time and truly start living again!

So let’s get started!

hey Zach! I actually found you by googling “fiscal therapist” as I was interested in the name! I am also a PT and on the path to FI. I have chosen to invest in real estate and I am well on my way to financial freedom. I left a F/T position in 2016, went to P/T and never looked back. Like you, I started out doing traveling therapy early on in my career, but only did it for 2 years. Would love to chat sometime!

Hey Dave, that’s awesome. I’m glad to have you stopping in, especially as a PT! I don’t plan to travel forever either, but I really try to tell new PT’s how powerful that income can be while gaining experience in the first few years. How far out are you from FI and are you pretty much 100% RE?

And we can definitely chat whenever, my email is in the contact page. I can get you my number from there

      -Zach
